The surroundings are just perfect to play golf, go walking, cycling or horseriding.

Walking:
France is one of the best countries for walking. There is a lot of variety in the landscape and the network of trails is extensive. Of course there are the “Grand Randonnées”, a network of walks all over France. But also locally around Monpazier, the local tourist office has set out shorter walks. Almost all are circular walks ranging from 5 to 40 km’s., using the most quiet roads and pathways. The routes are marked on special maps (available at the reception) and are signposted with yellow signs along the way.

Cycling:
Cycling through our beautiful area - through Bastide villages, past abbeys and chateaux. Starting at Monpazier one can do several bike tours ranging from 25 to 65 km’s, many bringing you to the hidden gems of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne, away from the more touristy spots. In this scenic part of France you will discover a new landscape around every bend in the road.

Bikes can be rented at the hotel, but reservations are necessary. Rates: half-day: 8,50€, full day: 12,50 €  and for a week: 65,--€

Golf:
The natural beauty of the Périgord is a wonderful setting for several good golf courses. In order to offer you preferential rates to play these golf courses, we have established partnerships with several of them (Golfclub Lolivarie, Golf La Marterie, Villeneuve sur Lot Golf & Country Club).They are located within 20 to 45 minutes drive of our hotel. The golf courses vary in setting and lay-out. We will be happy to advise you in your choice, given your personal preferences and standard of play. We will reserve your tee-time and, of course, we will give you the directions on how to get to the golf course.

Canoeing:
If you like canoeing you have to try a leisurely ride on the Dordogne river. From Pont d’Enveaux a mini-van will take you up to Carsac (28 km.up the river) or Les Pendoilles (14 km.) Going down stream with your canoe you will be carried gently past Château de Montfort, Vitrac and Cenac. Then you’ll pass La Roque Gageac and the beautiful chateaux of Castelnaud and Beynac. The end of the ride is 1,5 km. after Beynac.

Horseback riding:
Probably the best way to explore the very scenic countryside around Monpazier is on a horse! Around Monpazier there are different equestrian centres, where one can go for a ride ranging from 1,5 to 4 hours. A beautiful experience is undoubtedly the ride to Chateau Biron  and the picturesque village of Biron at its feet – you can imagine yourself a real knight!

Several times a year we also offer special horseriding packages, which offer you the chance to  explore the area around Monpazier.
